Snake bite kills 69-year-old man
A 69-year-old Lancashire man has died after being bitten by a snake in a Turkish holiday resort.
Harold Wilock was bitten early in July in Altinkum and was treated first in a Turkish Hospital and later in the Royal Preston Hospital where he died.

The father-of-four's left leg, which had turned black, had to be amputed and he had five operations in Preston. "It's a tragedy," said his wife Mary.

Mr Wilcock's funeral took place on Tuesday at St Chad's Church, Poulton.

Didim Altinkum Marina

Dogus Group which has opened Dogus Turgutreis Marina Complex (D-Marin) in 2003 has started constructions of a new marina in Didim. Didim is a small town on the western Aegean coast of Turkey. It is a popular holiday resort with long sandy beaches, watersports, hotels, a weekly market, a waterpark and the historic Temple of Apollo at Didyma. The town is located on one end of Gulluk Korfez, a bay that is also home to Akbuk, Gulluk, Torba, Turkbuku and Yalikavak on the Bodrum peninsula, and spans Aydin and Mugla provinces.

According to reports at newspapers last week, Didim D-Marin will be ready spring 2009. It will have 600 yachts on land and 625 yachts capacity in sea.
